Biography

Karla Ferguson - accordion, vocals, piano

Legend has it she was singing harmony by age 3, and branding cattle by age 4. Coincidence? Highly doubtful.

A classically trained mezzo soprano and pianist, Karla's roots run deep into her native Saskatchewan soil, where she grew up riding, roping, and singing from the saddle down on the family ranch. Nowadays her captivating voice, uncanny ear for harmony, and polka-ready accordion chops find her moonlighting with singer/songwriter Sam Baardman and Celtic band Rakish Paddy.

Karla has served as the executive director of the national Canadian Chamber Choir, and performed with the renowned Elmer Iseler Singers. She also oversees the Dust Poets "crisis management" department and can always be trusted to pick up the plane tickets.
